Just 2 weeks ago, I fired the Spitfire up for the first time since late
November. Since I knew it would take a few cranking sessions before it
caught and ran, I didn't do anything special in terms of getting oil into the
cylinders or prepping the fuel with "startup spray" or the like.
It started and ran very quietly without any oil starved bearing noise....no
smoke...ran fine. Since I was cranking a few times, I probably got the oil
and fuel moving well before it fired up. If your 6 normally starts right up,
pulling the coil wire and cranking a few times wouldn't hurt after a few
months of storage.
