The Wonderful World of Triumph Listers

I, in no way, wish to start an endless thread about this, but I want to share
an experience(s) with internet purchases.

I have been buying and selling parts on the internet for about three years.
(Not that I am in the business...but I ended up with a lot of spares with a
TR race car and the rebuild of a badly damamged TR3A)

On the positive side, I have not had a single bad experience with established
TR enthusiasts. It has been wonderful way to meet new friends and there is
always something new to learn from each other.

However,

I HAVE had two bad experiences with non-TR folks. Shame on me. It was clear
that they just jumped on the list or the VTR classifieds just long enough to
get shed of some junk. It didnt take me long to find this out with some
discussion. However, I trusted these people enough to proceed with the
purchases, one of them a long distance situation. Both times, without going
into endless detail, the cars were totally misrepresented. One of the deals
was in behalf a friend which makes it doubly distressful.

You'd think after 58 years, I'd be smarter...but on the other hand I enjoy
blindly trusting folks and would prefer not to give up this feature of my
existence. No more non-TR folks for me, however.
