Don't know if anyone remembers me asking for help about shipping my TR6
from Denver to Oslo last year, but my car has arrived safe and
(relatively) sound in Norway last week. I was pretty amazed at the
condition of the car, it looked (nearly) the exact same as when I left
it in Denver. Due to financial constraints I shipped it as loose cargo
instead of getting a container, and the exterior doesn't look any more
damaged than it already did. Starting the car at the port was one of
the most nerve wracking things that I have done in a long time, I just
wasn't expecting it to even turn over. The car has been sitting for the
past 3 months and the local temperature was a -12C. Not only was there
enough charge to crank the engine fairly easily, but after 2-3 minutes
the engine caught and held. The only glitch that I could find is that
it appears that I have a small coolant leak. There was no spraying, but
after a few minutes condensation appeared under the hood and I could see
some vapor rising from around the motor. Bundled up in my warmest snow
boarding gear I drove the car from Drammen to Oslo last thursday. It
was a total kick in the ass to be driving the car again and it seemed to
pull really strong. The only immediate concerns are the small coolant
leak and retiming the ignition to get rid of the occasional pinging.

I know when I asked the list about shipping information before, I got
some information about a Triumph club out in Norway, but unfortunately
I've lost all of that mail. Anyone know about the club? If anyone on
the list is in Norway, could you clue me in to a good place to get body
work done (rust removal, (probably) some welding, repainting, and rust
protection).

One last thought. How good of an idea would it be to hop over to
England and try to locate a fuel injection system for the car?

>>>Locate it before the hop over, but enquire of the lofcal club first about
local regs re retrofitting PI to your car, and use with local fuel<<<

Thanks from a very happy owner who has been reacquainted with his:
