Dennis, We just recovered the dash on my TR3 a few weeks ago. It came out just great. The old covering should just pull off as it was held on with contact cement originally. However, you may need a little heat, a hair dryer should do it, or if the sun is out, an hours worth of noon exposure will do it! We cleaned up the steel dash with acetone or lacquer thinner, primed it and then we used 3M High Strength 90 spray-on contact cement when we put the new vinyl on. Also reused the original metal clips to hold the vinyl along the bottom edge of the dash. Good luck! Jim Bauder '58 TR3 Palo Alto, CA |
