How 'bout adding some:
 ty-raps?
 Road flares?
 Spare fuses?
 band-aids?
 can 'o Tire-flate?
 fan belt?
 WD-40 or equiv.?
 paper and pencil?
and by this time, a set of Monroe-Matic Load Levelers!

Probably a good idea to hide a few $20's, too!

My list of tools :

SAE combo wrench set
Whitworth open end wrench set
SU carb tool kit
3/8" drive socket set including short extension and spark plug socket
Flat and Phillips screwdrivers
'Tinker' model Swiss army knife (in my pocket always)
"gas" pliers
"chain nose" pliers
Digital MultiMeter
"clip leads" (lengths of insulated stranded wire with alligator clips at
each end)
Big (2 C cell) flashlight
Small (2 AA cell) flashlight (to hold in teeth)
pry bar for hubcaps
'crucifix' type lug nut wrench
jack
'budget lock' tool

Spares/supplies :
tune-up kit (points, condenser, rotor) (used)
ballast resistor for converting back to points ignition (mounted on
firewall)
turn signal/tail light bulbs
steel "handy wire" (aka baling wire)
duct tape
water (distilled)
engine oil (20W50 synthetic)
tranny oil (20W50 racing)
brake fluif (DOT 5 silicone)
glass cleaner
paper towels

For a long trip, I just make sure all maintenance items are up to date
(usually by doing them <g>). That includes making sure all lights work, and
checking the oil level in the trans and rear end.
