I don't wish to open a can of worms, here, but a couple of weeks ago during
the "Great TRF Wars", I listed a message saying that based on the horror
stories I had heard from others, that I was going to avoid doing any
business with TRF since customer service seems of secondary importance to
them. I'd never done any business with them prior to my remarks.
I wanted to let everyone know that after reading everyone's comments, I've
reconsidered and decided that yes, I WILL buy from TRF -- so long as
whatever I'm ordering is in stock. I'm not going to blast the owner for
opening a British Pub because it's his life and he's entitled to be happy
and try to fulfill his dreams like the rest of us. I was impressed with
TRF's catalog and Mr. Runyan's "Introduction" which was obviously heartfelt
and sincere.
There have been times that I have probably disappointed some of my customers
as well. I know that I'm grateful for the ones that gave me a second chance
and I've worked harder to demonstrate to them that I was worthy of that
second chance. While I don't care for the separate catalog/price list
approach, I DO see that TRF has items in stock that I need and cannot find
anywhere else -- new, at least.
I hope I'm not disappointed. I certainly was not when I called their "level
2" ordering line and received competent, courteous assistance.
Best wishes,
Jeff in San Diego
