Overdrive compatablity...

When I installed the tr-3A-style overdrive (A-type, I believe,) in my
TR-6, I made a mount out of an exhaust clamp (3" as I recall) and had the
local welding/metal shop fabricate a simple mounting piece that would bolt
to the existing mounting point on the frame.  Whole thing cost about $20, 
works just fine. 

(For those who might be interested, I have rebuilt a couple of these
things.  Not too difficult, but the most important trick is the alignment
of planetary gears in the outer ring, and then the alignment of the
central splines into which the trans output shaft must go!  This last
requires either an old OD trans output shaft, or something like it, much
like the pilot used to center a clutch driven-disk.)
