Hi all

Yes it is probably worth having it welded I would aim to leave the repaired
area slightly proud on the
face that meets with the head so that it can be dressed flat.
There is a type of welding rod called Cold Cast meaning that it does not
need preheating, not as good
as preheating but pretty near, don't know how it would hold up on an exhaust
manifold but worth
trying if you cannot get the preheated job done.
