I have the top bolt oriented so the nut is on the engine side. When you pull 
the starter   
you just leave the bolt in place. Much easier to get the nut on from this 
side as well, no duct tape required. When you first place the starter you can 
kind of hang it on this bolt too.
Bit tricky tho' as it is very easy to knock the bolt out of place, and it 
requires strong fingers to get it into place with the trans tunnel on.
