Hi,

The gauge of metal for a tR6 frame basically .062 inch - I think that's
equiv to 18 gauge.

A flux core welder will burn too hot to do this repair. You need a
shielding gas like MIG or a TIG welder to do the job with any degree of
success.

I tried using a flux core welder on some spots on one of my frames - as
practice, and the metal all puckered up and got wavey and I burned through
in several spots.

Maybe my touch is a little heavy - but I'd def. reccommend a MIG welder for
the job.

regards,
rml
