Re: 5 prefix in Canada/ STC not Triumph

California titled cars when they were sold. The first Doretti is herein
1953 but is titled a 55 as that's when it left the disributor. TS5 And 7
I believe are in the same boat because they were used as demonstrators. 
The STC plates indicate the year of the car,and appear on cars
registered post that designated year. This is a California DMV thing and
had nothing to do with Triumph
