Seems to me that Airfix car kits were about half a crown back when I was building them in the 60s. In fact, the series I aircraft kits were 1/9d, which meant that I could buy a model of a Spitfire (Supermarine, not Triumph), a copy of the Rover, a copy of the Beano, and still have 2d left for 8 Blackjacks, all out of the half a crown pocket money I received back then. Those were the days.... |
