English Vs. Metric

Well, I guess we've beaten this one to death for a while.  Like all other
threads, I'm sure it will rear its ugly head again in a few months.

Two bad puns came out of it:

1. How can we have an "English Vs. Metric" thread?  Threads are either
English or Metric.

2. The consensus seems to be that we are "inching" our way toward metric
standardization.  Ouch!
