Jan, inside that small hole is a spring loaded pin. Take a paper clip or
similar and push it into the hole. This will depress the pin enough so that
you can then pull the knobs off.

Subject: Switch Plinth Knobs
I have been very wary to slip in what are probably dumb questions. However,
I'll plunge in with this dumb question.
I am slowly progressing with the install of my interior. I am replacing a
badly damaged switch plinth. In looking a the knobs I notice that each has
a
little hole but no apparent fixture such as a hex nut. How do I take off
the
knobs? Do I just pull them off? I thought I should ask before I start
yanking and mess something else up that I would have to repair. I have done
that often enough.
