Bob,
just a little out of line and as a new lister I understand your frustration.
Mark, the guy who takes care of the equipment, buys the equipment, takes
care of the software, takes the flack when things go wrong, does all this on
a part time basis, out of his own pocket - except when things get really bad
like right now. Judging by his recent emails the equipment is on its last
legs. Many thought the University was footing the bill but Mark has recently
been reduced to asking for financial assistance from the list. In three
years that I have been on the list this is only the second time he's asked
for help and last time he only asked if anyone had any surplus hardware they
could let him have.
Mark busts his a$$ and his pocketbook to make the list happen for us.
If you need his address to make a small contribution, let me know.
Andy

  Webmeister:
Forgive me if the following comments are out of line, I am new to
this list. What's the deal with the incessantly repeated messages? I
enjoy reading them the first, and maybe second time, but some of these have
arrived maybe 10 times ? Do I have something set up wrong?
                                                                Thanks,

Hello fellow listers!

As some of you may know, I am the proud owner of a 1981 TR7 DHC. I've
owned this car since, oh, about Valentine's Day. I have been given a
very generous offer to purchase a 1980 Triumph Spitfire, WITH overdrive,
for $4000. A good price, I think. The one problem is is that I'll have
to sell my TR7 first, and I'm not sure if I should or not.

My TR7 is in above-average shape (as far as TR7s go!) and has very
limited cosmetic rust. The underbody is covered with many layers of
Ziebart undercoating and is very solid. It's a rarish 1981 Model, 76,000
miles, with the Bosch L-Jetronic Electronic Fuel Injection, that was
originally bought in England by a US Air Force officer, and shipped back
a few years later (1984). You can see pictures, etc. at my website:
http://members.xoom.com/bfurgalus/ .

The Spitfire is an Inca Yellow model, 49,000 miles, all emissions
control stuff attached. It has NO rust, and has original paint,
interior, top, tonneau, and boot covers, all in great shape. It also
has overdrive (as mentioned earlier). What do you guys think? S

hould I sell my TR7 and buy the Spit, or should I hang on to the TR7? I
like the TR7 a lot, but I also love the Spitfires.

If I do decide to sell the TR7, I'm planning on selling for $4000, so if
anybody reading this wants a nice, solid TR7 with a neat history, or
konws somebody who is, drop me an email! I am in the Cleveland, OH
area. I'd be happy to put you in touch with the previous owner, a pretty
famous (infamous? :) Wedge guy here in Ohio, who would be happy to
second my description of the car.

As always,
Brian
