Either type of joint can be designed for arbitary strength. The Mini inner CV
joint was designed not for strength, but to be cheaper than the Hardy Spicer
UJ and less likely to disolve in oil than the rubber cross joints.
The Mini outer CV joint is not known for failures, just the inner one.
