I have been driving my 76 TR6 for about a year now, I don't drive it much
just the odd weekend and evening .
I have done some repairs on it rebuilt Master Brake cylinder, fix some of the
electrical problems, replaced the temp sending unit and time to rebuild the
carbs this winter.
My problem is that when I rebuilt the slave cylinder last weekend I found
out just how dirty the underside was , oil had been leaking from the rocker
cover gasket, the M/C, and oil pan gasket. Most of these leaks have been
stopped.
What is the best way to clean the undercarriage the PO had the underside
sprayed with some type of rust proofing which seems to have done the job as
the frame and floor pans are in excellent condition.
I don't plan on driving the car in the winter or when it rains if I can help
it. Its time to do some more work under the car and I would like it to be
clean to work on.
Would a hot high pressure wash with a degreaser work or am I just inviting
rust to get a foot hold?
PS. I have learned a lot by lurking on the list, my thanks to all the
regular contributors.
