Hi List
FYI...after the discovering that my rear TR4 lever shocks had two different
resistances I took out the shock valves (big hex nuts at bottom) and switched
valves to find that they were in fact calibrated differently (and noticed the
spring nut on one valve was down 3 threads - on the other it was down 5
threads). I guess the passenger side was set 'lighter' just like the
passenger side 'leaf springs' were made lighter in earlier years (later TR4s
rear leafsprings are the same on both sides).
I reassembled shocks as I found them but took the opportunity to tighten the
spring valve nut 1/8 turn to compensate for 35 years wear on the little valve
face.
The fluid was high and no leaks so I think all is fine and I will have a few
percent increase in firmness of the rear lever shocks when back on the road.
