Randall,
I have three TR3 manuals (Bentley, Haynes, Autobook) and none show the
wiring for overdrive. The only manual I found anything in was the Autobook
TR4/A manual by Kenneth Ball. I don't have a way to copy the page so I can
fax it to you, so here is my next best attempt. BTW --- the wiring seems
correct for the TR4 A-type O/D I put into my TR3B but, of course, YMMV.
Relay:
C1- Brown wire to ammeter
W1 - White wire to ignition switch terminal 2
C2 - Yellow/Pink to solenoid. Second solenoid connection goes to ground.
W2 - Yellow/Green to O/D Dash Switch
Yellow wire runs from O/D dash switch to the first (frontmost) switch on top
of O/D gearbox
Another Yellow connects at same terminal of that switch and runs to the 2nd
gearbox switch
Black wire connects other side of the two gearbox switches, and then on to
ground
I hope this helps. I have not run mine yet, plus I don't know if yours is
the same as this one. If I'm way off base I'm sure someone else on the list
will spot it.
