Someone should tape this for all to see!
A while back I taped 2 hours from Speedvision and for the cost of the tape
and shipping, offered it to the list. About 20 people (all Americans)
bought it and said they liked it. There were bits from several years of
Alpine Rallyes (sp?) taped by the Standard film unit that travelled with
the teams to record the glory of Triumph. This sounds like more footage
from Standard as I assume they shot alot of film. Hopefully they put
together more programs of these great old races from a time when "men were
men and women were grateful".
Speedvision was cancelled on me after getting it free for a year. The
footage of these old races is great. I miss it but would rather cancel my
cable altogether so I'm not tempted to watch any more TV than I already do.
There was alot of debate as to whether I should have done the tape.
Concerns were copyright infringement and taxes not paid. As to the
copyright thing, I figure it is more of an advertisement for a really good
TV station. If it is available in your area get it, you won't be
disappointed. Hard to believe a tape from a tape from a TV show would be
rebroadcast by anyone.
