I'm thinking of buying a Stag. I have found one I like, all things I'm
looking for check out in terms of body and engine (from a cooling
perspective). Engine was rebuilt some 11K ago following a chain smash! A
compression test gave the following results: 115, 125, 115, 115, 125, 95,
150, 115. The two problems ones are obvious. I checked the valve clearances
and the two offending cylinders both had slightly larger clearances than
prescribed by about 5-6 thou. No smoke, no leaks, nothing in the oil.
Diagnosis anyone please? Is this a reason not to buy?

I have trawled the previous threads and there is nothing conclusive on such
a result...
