Deciding when to brace really depends on the condition of your sills/rockers
and floorpans. If they're structurally sound, you should be ok. However,
why risk it? Dad & I built a brace which mounts on the top door hinge
holes on the front, and the hood stick support. We first took two pieces of
flat stock, bent to roughly 90 degrees, drilled holes to mount them. We
mounted them, then welded the pipe in between. I have photos, but need to
get them scanned and put on the web page.

As for dipping, I'm passing on that option for my TR2 restore. Too many
horror stories of the chemical not being completely washed away and having
it ruin subsequent paint jobs. We're hand stripping the paint, then
blasting the panels on mine.

Hope that's helpful...
