The pistons are Mahle and they are a reputable component. I used these,
also from BPNW, in my TR3 engine rebuild this past winter. BPNW also
supplies Deves rings with the sets, which are very good, too. They came
with figure 8 gaskets too. The liners are coated on the outside, then
machined, so the bulk of the liner has a protective finish on it. nice
touch!
BTW - the box my pistons came in was marked ring end gap checked and OK, but
the box the rings were in, correctly indicated otherwise. Check them.
Pregapped rings would have been nice, but I don't know if Moss or TRF
provides them either.
