I have grown dependent on using a right hand side mirror when I drive.
It bothered me enough that I spent $56 with Moss to get a matching 4 1/2
inch bullet mirror for the passenger side of my car.

Last night I took great care to set the mirror up so that the mounting
bracket was lined up identically with the original one on the drivers
side. I used as close to exact measurements as I could get. I drilled
my holes, installed the mirror, got in the car and found that the angle
that the bracket was attached to the door would not allow the mirror to
adjust appropriately. The mirror just wouldn't adjust far enough to
give me a good view. The best view I could get was too far outside -
away from the passenger side of the car.

No matter how I turned or twisted the mirror I could not get a good
angle. I concluded that I had to re-drill and re-mount the bracket
under the body of the mirror. Luckily, the front hole was OK and the
fix only involved the rear screw. I drilled a new hold about 1/8 to
3/16 above the first hole, installed the mirror and everything was fine.
The first hole is covered completely by the mirror so there is no real
damage done, but it could have been worse.

Moral to the story, when you think you've got it figured out, you
probably don't.

If you are installing a mirror on the passenger side of your TR6, do a
few trial placements.
