Paul,
I made one of these and it worked great. I got one of 3" square sheet metal
washers at the hardware store and used the angle grinder to make it fit
under the lower spring pan. One thing that really worked slick --- I had a
buddy weld a big nut onto the top of the threaded rod. This turned it into
basically a large bolt. I put my air socket on the top, hold a wrench over
another nut at the bottom, squeeze the trigger and it just shrinks up real
nice.
