I have been following the recent thread about pinning thrust washers with some disbelief! I have worked in the automotive parts business for 30 years for all types of companies including engine rebuilding supply houses. If the crank or block have excessive wear they should be welded and reground to spec. This can be done for the thrust faces as well as the journals. A correctly done crank and block do not need pins. Sure, pins can be used and will provide some insurance, but...... Peter Arakelian Domestic Buyer Moss Motors, Ltd. (805) 681-3400 x3214 (805) 692-2510 - Fax |
