Mitch,
As the jets wear on a ZS carb, it tends to run richer. If yours is
running leaner, look for vacuum leaks.
If you still want to adjust the mixture, remove the 4 screws that
hold the top cover on each carb and withdraw the air valve ("piston"). The
needle on this carb isn't "adjustable" with the special tool, but you can
still
loosen the small grub screw on the side that holds the needle in place and
slide the needle assembly up a small amount to enrich the mixture. The
thickness of a paper clip is a good amount for starters.
When reassembling, make sure the rubber diaphragm is in
good shape and that the two "slots" in the rubber lip engage in the correct
grooves in the top cover and carb body.
