TR3A with no 2nd gear

2nd's been a bit notchy for a while, I assumed it was bad syncros.  Last
week I had no 2nd at all.  No grinding or banging, just felt totally blocked
off.

Took the top cover off, and the forks all seem fine.  But when I move 2nd by
hand it binds unless I do it from a specific angle.

I'm assuming I'm looking at a rebuild unless somebody can point out some
other option....
