If you have the factory workshop manual it describes how to set your cam up;
I have a '69 GT6+ that I did an engine rebuild on last summer.
Bottom line, it works; I have 2 round trips from Oklahoma City to San
Antonio (about 900 miles round trip) and I put almost 140 miles a day
driving it to and from work at about 65 miles an hour. (I have almost 9000
miles on the car since the rebuild)
I had, up until that point, rather limited automotive skills, and don't
consider myself an expert by any standards, I have done brake jobs, and
changed a clutch or two in the past, but that's about it. I had never even
considered doing a rebuild until last summer, and equipped with a torque
wrench and the Factory workshop manual, I set to work. I used the method
from the book to set the crank at TDC, and then you adjust the cam by slowly
rotating it and measuring valve lash on the 2 of the valves (I can give you
the full procedure if you can wait a day or two.
