Here in the sunny desert side of the Evergreen State I have yet to see a
British car on the road besides the occasional newer Jag. A fellow
lister (and neighbor) has a '68 B in the garage undergoing rear tube
shock conversion, but with the responsibilities of landscaping their new
house I don't hold much hope of seeing him on the road anytime soon.
(never buy an un-landscaped house. It takes away from quality time with
your cars...) Another guy has a garage full of LBCs. Two TR6s, a TR4,
and an MGB. Does he drive them? No. I know there are two TR250s in
town, but have never met the drivers. And there is this radically
modified MGA in town that I would love to have. WIDE fender flares with
wider tires on the back, lowered and painted an almost flat black, it
looks like a screamer. Haven't seen it at all this spring. Another guy
has a beautiful '69 XKE and a waiting-to-be-beautiful '54 XK120. How
can you own an XKE and not put it on the road???
The only "British" car I have seen is a bastardized '68 B with a 240Z
engine/tranny/rearend transplant. Absolutely hideous hood bulge. I
sent the pictures to Greg Perigo at MG Magazine so that you could share
the pain.
