Call Greyhound (the bus line) and inquire what the max weight they will
take- might be that a wooden cradle and an engine lift at both terminals
might make it work. Check if they still run express routes- so that the
same bus will start in PA and end up in SC.
Check with the Rental car companies about a one way rental in which they
need a car returned to the south- usually very low rates - no mileage
and three days to get the car to it's destination. Hopefully it's near
where you want to get the engine. And then fly back on the return.
