I recently met a fellow TSSC member who was previously local, but has
now moved to the wilds of Wales. About 4-5 years ago I sold him a set of
new Goodridge Braided hoses for his Herald Convertible, which had
originally been intended for one of my own cars. Recently, one of the
hoses had burst under pressure, obviously causing total brake failure.
These hoses had been on the car for some considerable time, so don't
see this as a recommendation against fitting them. But if you do fit
them, be sure to change them on a regular basis. As others have said,
they won't give any warning of imminent failure. Treat them as a
consumable,
Cheers,
Bill
