reasonable prices

I read with amazement sometime how a person looking for a expensive part 
for a car and asks to buy it for a reasonable price, my question is what 
is a resonable price and what would he sell it for if it belonged to him. 
Is a reasonable price in the mind of the seller or the buyer, and does it 
have anything to do with the price of the new part or as to how rare and 
how much in demand. Inquiring minds are interested.   "FT"
