Karl,
Yes, AMCO is still around, and making great products. My own experience
is on Spitfires, but I'm sure that it applies to TR4's as well. I
bought a Robins top for my Mk1 and was very pleased. Recently, though I
purchased a top for my son's Mk2 and called BPNW to see what they sold.
They said AMCO and quoted a price. I bought it and had it shipped to my
son in Los Angeles.
I sent my son an EMAIL explaining that he would have to take some of the
parts off the old top and use them on the new one. I also explained to
him that he'd be responsible for installing the snaps. His reply
revealed that the front metal strips were included and the snaps were
already installed. So all he had to do was insert the rear bar and put
it on.
So even though the Robins top is high quality, I am now recommending
AMCO!
Regards,
Joe
