I decided to take advantage of the sunny weather today & work on my Spit.
After driving all winter with my thermostat stuck open, I replaced it
today. Unfortunately, there was no gasket to speak of on the housing. There
was gorilla snot (orange gasket goop), which all came away when I pulled
the old thermostat out. Can I just clean up the housing and apply a fresh
coat of goop, or do I have to go the paper gasket route?
Thanks,
Mark & his sweet smelling Spit
