Looking at my TR6 this weekend (while working on the rear brakes), I
decided that after replacing almost every body panel a year and a half
ago, I should do something about the state of the undersides of the
car. I did not touch the underside at the time, except for new
sills,etc.
Structurally, everything is fine. I would just like to do a general
cleaning to remove years of dirt and grime, etc. Owning and driving a
car in Canada (early Spring and late Fall conditions), and living in the
country (dirt roads), is not easy on the undersides of any car.
However, one blessing of an LBC is that the constant oil spraying from
the engine has protected much of the underside (and my engine is in good
shape)..
Can someone recommend a procedure for this cleaning the underside?
Would steam cleaning be the best way? I would consider cleaning, then
rust preventive spraying.
It's a daily driver, and not just on asphalt roads.
Any experiences out there?
