Well have a big confession to make. There is no confusion
anymore. The problem was all mine. I just never saw
enough of these parts before to come to the right
conclusion.
I performed the autopsy and pryed everything apart last
night and the sleeve was in there as it had to be. The
beefy bearing sheet metal and the sloopiness of the worn
bearing was making it look like the sleeve was somehow
attached to the bearing for life.
I drifted off the bearing inner race that was still
attached after surgery with no problem.
