Greg,
My bumpers are in being rechromed as we speak. This shop does a chemical
bath to strip it clean, "pounds" out any dents, sands it down and then
triple plates it.... in this case, it's nickel, nickel and chrome. (I can
see a thread starting now over the benefits of copper, nickel, chrome!). I
found the best way to locate a quality shop is to ask at both motorcycle and
Hot Rod dealers. I figure if you can keep the bikers happy with your work,
the 50 year old guy in an LBC should also be happy. In my area this place
won hands down!
