Without completely tearing it apart, any suggestions on figuring out the
problem. As near as I can tell, the oil pressure in the tranny/OD
never got to the levels as stated in the manuals. But I don't see
anyway to adjust it.

Hey Carl
Check the operating lever adjustment. Disconnect the solenoid bracket and
operate by hand while turning the input shaft with a drill. You can also try
cleaning the valves/seats. If memory serves there's a pressure relief valve
behind the solenoid mounting plate - spring and ball bearing.
