I just bought a 76 TR6 (CF57991) with 6,057 original miles. The car is
100% original and in great shape. The car was originally purchased by
the regional Triumph factory rep. (~12 yrs) and then sold to a local
Triumph dealer (~10 yrs). I bought the car from the dealer.
A couple of questions:
1 - Do I need to add a lead substitute to the gas on a '76?
2 - What are the tricks to replacing the velcro on the roof frame?
3 - Although the car was well maintained, considering the low miles that
this car was driven, what should I keep an eye out for in terms of
mechanical failures? My principal concerns at this time are rubber
hoses, etc. although they all seem to be in pretty good shape. I have a
set of hoses and belts on order from TRF.
Thanks, in advance, for your help.
