Curiouser and Curiouser.
I called Vinco and had a nice conversation with (Dummy me didn't ask for a
name.) And I learned that the items I listed in my previous post are
possibly fixes to a worn trany and or homologation of various things, such
as the 2 different size syncro rings the small one is from an early trans
and the others are from late trans. And the bronze main input bearing not
needle bearing could be the old needle bearing disintegrated and rather
than buy a new main shaft and input shaft and new needle bearing the fix
was put in. Or it could be an early all syncro(?.) So I am left with one
problem, that is the input shaft to main shaft bushing. I have 2 choices 1)
I have to buy a new main shaft and needle bearing bush or 2) have a new
bronze bush made and put in. The OD of the main shaft is .500" and the ID
of the bush is .595" I think that qualifies as off tolerance, EH? any one
know off hand what the main shaft OD should be where it fits in to the bush
in the input shaft?????
is it time for me to go Huuuuummmmmmm?
The trany number is FK56991, sounds like a good number 2 me.
