Subject: | TR6, Wrong Head Gasket? |

I have a 1971 TR6 that according to the BMIHT Certificate it should have engine # CC61371-E. The engine in the car is # CC82348UE (with head # 218227). I have been experiencing an overheating problem and wonder if I have a 1971 head gasket in a later engine and would this cause overheating? The head had the protruding ring around the combustion chamber. However, that was machined off when the head was redone. It has the single exhaust manifold. Any comments? Suggestion?
