Guys,
I'd appreciate the input of those of you running GT6's TR250's and
TR6's on
the hoary old issue of unleaded. Okay, I know unleaded has been
around in the States and Canada since the year dot - but leaded fuel
is due to be finally outlawed in the UK by 2000.
Wearing my editorial hat, I'm presently compiling a pile of data into
a spreadsheet in response to a survey from owners of the 2 litre
carb,
2500 fuel injected and 2500 twin carb saloons (sedans). It's clear
that a
number of people (essentially UK based) who have responded to
the survey are going ga-ga with terror at the prospect of losing
leaded fuel and think they are the first ones on the planet to tread
this path.
I'd really appreciate your input of a hopefully assuring nature if
you are running bog standard 'six pot' lumps on unleaded. I have to
assume most of your are? What are your experiences about valve seat
recession, having heads re-worked for harder seats and all that guff
which goes with it? Particularly, I'm interested to have comments
about those who have utilised 'lead-memory' and are driving cars that
are completely unmodified. My target audience of about 1500 members
worldwide are presently driving cars in an age range from 1962 thru
to around 1980. From the 200 odd responses currently received, the
bias is very much centred on the 1962 to 1978 period.
For those of you inclined to reply, be as brief or as long as you
like.
I'd appreciate your confirmation you are willing for your comments to
be published in SIXappeal. To save bandwidth for everyone, its
probably better to keep the replies off list
Thanks in antikkipation
