<<I notice that in order to use the slow fan speed, I have to pull the switch
out to the MAX (highest) fan speed FIRST and then push the switch in to the
low speed position. If I pull the switch to LOW from the OFF position,
nothing happens. My question is: Is this normal??>>
My '63 Volvo heater fan switch tells an enlightening story...pull the switch
out to the first notch and it is high speed ..the second notch (pulled out all
the way) is low speed. Volvo figured first get the electric motor jump
started... then slow it down...
When you get a free weekend you can probably dismantle and lube the motor and
it would run like new again ..in the meantime... keep giving it the 'full
jolt' to start it.
