Mike,
I've been off the list for 3 months so hope that this hasn't already been
posted.  Rossi & Clarke's book and TRF's Triumph Companion for TR250&6 say
the first commission number for '71 was CC58298.  I can't think of any
other reference that gives a number for '71.  Just for comparison,
Piggott's Original Triumph TR gives the first NA TR6 actually built in the
1971 calendar year as CC60903L.  

One guess I have for the first '71 model is when the gearbox change (to the
Stag unit's internals) was made at gearbox # CC59817(?).  BTW, most books
list that change as having been CC89817, but I think thats probably a
mistake, as it apparently took place in late '70, as the UK car's change
was at CP51163 (built in late '70).

Finally, the last '71 NA model was CC67893L, built on 20Aug71.
