Jim,
The main tube of the crossmember is the same for all TR-6's. The difference
between
early and late has to do with different brackets welded near each end for the
later
bumper overriders as fitted after '74. If you are having trouble getting enough
clearance, look at how your motor mounts are attached. Most will be mounted in
front
of the metal bracket on the frame/susp. tower. However, I've seen some where
the
rubber portion is bolted in behind the frame bracket thus moving the engine
back about
3/8" or so. This may be where you're loosing your clearance.
