Perry, I'm no expert, but if it is non-rythmatic and dissappears as quickly as you say, it is probably related to the heat expansion of your exhaust system. When your car is cold, have someone else start the car while you examine and listen to your exhaust system, possibly where the manifold is attached to the exhaust pipe. Let me know how you make out.
