No - for one thing TR3 gauges all have convex glass. Actually the glass is
interchangeable - so a tach could be made to work. I think the lighting ports
are different as well.

Speedo's are different for OD vs non-OD (right?), but are tachs the
same?
Speedo's depend on the differential ratio - not OD. There was a thread on
this a while back - hope I'm not opening a can of worms here. There were a
number of different speedo's - miles vs kilometer, 3.7 diff vs 4.1 diff, and 2
different tires supplied. There's a number on the face just below the needle I
think, that tells the cable turns per mile I think, usually around 1150 or

How does one tell if the tach works?
FWIW all three of my cars show 3000 rpm at 60 mph in top gear. I think all
the gauges have been rebuilt and I have checked them all for accuracy. I think
all my speedo's & tachs are pretty accurate. If you don't want to (or can't)
run the tach you can spin the "works" using a drive cable. I keep a cut off
end about 6" long for this purpose.

Any ideas as to the value of a '60 Jaeger tach? (I know - if you're
selling, it's about $500...if you're buying, it's more like $5 - right,
Malcolm?!)
Should be able to find a working one under $100. Rebuild costs about this much
also.
