Been awhile since I posted, so I'd like to thank all who responded to my
request for parts for my (then) newly acquired project TR6 a few months
back. Particular thanks to a local lister who had everything on my list.
Thanks for all the other offers of parts, I hope I responded to all of you
at the time, apologies if I missed anyone.
I have had the head rebuilt and skimmed a little for extra compression and
I was recently cleaning the pistons and block surface ready for reassembly.
While doing this I noticed clearly marked on all the pistons rear edge
"0.75mm". I'm a little baffled what this means. Any ideas anyone ? I'm
hoping that these are after market pistons, indicating a bottom end
rebuild. It would have been rebuilt prior to 1991 as the car has been of
the road since then.
I also was able to read the engine number which terminated with "HE" . I
thought that this was used to identify the UK and European models with the
higher compression ratio?
TIA for any light you can shed
Neil
