TR6's use a 4 X 4.5 inch pattern - there are other cars that share this.
240Z's used it, some of the earlier Toyota Celicas did... maybe others. I
think the toughest thing is not necessarily associated with the bolt pattern
but getting the correct back spacing. The stock TR6 wheel is 4 inches, if
memory serves.
I would agree with your wheel person's assesment - TR6 wheels bend very
easily. In the old days, they'd get bent by the people changing tires if
they weren't done properly.
I know the two or so sets that I have do not "run true" by any stretch of
the imagination.
Panaports are way stronger.
Go for it - 7 inch Panasports...
